The name of the B & B was inspired by a very fascinating, affluent time in the 1930’s known as the “Rum Running” era. The “Roost” itself is a fully restored, traditional Newfoundland home that provides the discerning traveler with a comfortable balance of modern amenities and historical ambiance to make your stay a memorable experience. The rooms are all named after historical rum runner ships and a great deal of time, research, and expert advice has gone into selecting handcrafted furniture and other décor to ensure Rum Runners Roost retains all of the character and charm of the “Rum Running” era.
